The Women’s Volleyball Program faces a tough season after losing four starters from last year’s team including both captains. They are bolstered, however, by Xina Graham-Vannais (‘15) who returns from a year studying abroad.
The season opened with a tri-match against Bard College and Maritime College that resulted in two losses.

“We walked away from our first two matches with the unstoppable energy that keeps us pushing everyday to be better,” said senior Graham-Vannais (’15).

The team marches forward with a home game at 7 PM against Medgar Evers this Thursday, Sept. 11.

The squad may be flush with young talent, but they are also returning five players from last year. That kind of consistency year-on-year has the potential to both build a program for the future and compete in the present.

“The goal is to get better every day and have a great time representing Sarah Lawrence” said Head Coach Jillian Kalvik, regarding the challenges associated with heading such a young team.

Before the school year, Kalvik was also named Coach of the Men’s team. The Men’s season begins in the spring season.
