Last year was the first in officially-sanctioned Division III competition for the women’s soccer program. Under the direction of then-first-year coach Unity Beddingfield, the team made conference playoffs with a 3-2-1 record.

The team returns most of the players from last season, including Elle Blanchet (’15), Sadie Zavgren (’17), and Shannon Sullivan (’17) who each made the HVIAC all-conference team.

“They were able to pull through for us last year and I feel they will do the same for us this year” added Beddingfield.

Looking to pick up where they left off at the close of last year’s regular season (in which they achieved a three-game streak of win, draw, win), the women opened their season this Monday against Yeshiva University. They controlled the pace of play throughout and cruised to a 4-0 victory.

Their next contest will be away at NJCU this coming Wednesday, Sept. 17. They open their conference slate on September 26 against Maritime College.
